Security

How Smarkly looks after your data.

What we keep, who processes it, and how to reach us about security.

What we keep

When Smarkly reads your website or a document, it keeps the text it extracted and the conclusions it drew: your brand voice, what you sell and who you sell to. Keeping the text lets Smarkly check drafts against what your sources actually say and show where a fact came from. It belongs to your workspace and is deleted with it.

What you give Smarkly to work from goes to one AI provider, Anthropic, through its commercial API. Anthropic's terms don't allow it to train models on that content, and we don't train models on it either.

Who processes it

A small set of providers run parts of the service, under contracts that limit how they use your data:

  • SupabaseDatabase and sign-in
  • VercelHosting
  • AnthropicAI processing of what you give Smarkly to work from
  • FirecrawlReads your website pages for Smarkly
  • StripePayments. Card numbers stay with Stripe; we never store them.
  • ResendEmail, such as team invitations and account notices
  • InngestBackground jobs
  • PostHogProduct analytics, only after you consent
  • SentryError reports, without IP addresses or cookies

The full list, and what each one receives, is in our Privacy Policy.

Who can see what

Everyone on your team signs in as themselves, with one of three roles: Owner, Admin or Editor. Only the Owner can cancel the subscription. Owners and Admins manage billing and the team; Editors can't change billing.

Deleting your data

When you ask us to delete your account, access to the workspace stops straight away. The data is held for 90 days in case the request was a mistake, then deleted. How deletion works.
